Semi-Sweet Weekend

I am not sure how to start this one. Me and Curious have been in some pretty tight spots for some time and he has been buckled up in the back seat of my car for the whole thing. There have been many ups and downs in the Curious little life of me and George but there is always one thing that stays consistent and that is what I enjoy the most. Fishing. Fishing is just one of those things that is not anything like a normal life. It is quite pointless in many ways but some what prehistoric at the same time. People used to do it just to survive and be healthy. I still agree with that. There are many good points to fishing, I shall point out a few for you. Fish are nothing like people. You can sit there and talk to them for hours on end about anything your pitiful little heart desires while the fish only sit and listen. They do not talk back, they do not make you feel like a bad person, argue with you, or even try and upset you about anything.. They just listen. You don't have to speak loudly or clearly, you can speak in any language you desire even by just thinking the words. No matter what you say they won't ever look down on you or criticize your choices, opinions, or views on subjects you bring up. The fish just listen and without saying a word they can talk back and help you understand and put certain things into a much clearer perspective for you. Even while me and little Curious sat on the side lines of the stream helping tie on new tippet lines for our 2 fishing partners of the day we could sit and take all the time we needed because no matter what the fish would certainly be sitting there just waiting for us to return without rushing or pushing us to do any thing we didn't feel like doing. They were always there unlike most human companions most people could have. They understand your problems and speak in a language that only some people care to listen to and I just happen to be one of those people. This is true for all kinds of fishing but I have found the trout to be the most laid back intelligent creatures of them all. I believe this to be mostly due to the setting that they live in around here, a some what small stream with enough cold water to keep you comfortable on even the hottest of days with just enough noise from the moving water to clear your head of even the deepest problems. That is how these small innocent fish still help many people survive todays problems. No matter who you are I am sure you will run into a few people that are just cruel, cold, and evil enough to ruin your day... Week.. Or possible even a year or two. In most cases a sane person wouldn't have anyone ruin your whole life but I am sure it is quite possible but I am not quite sane am I? I spend a lot of time with a stuffed monkey.. Curious is a lot like a fish. He can do just about everything a fish does but there is a problem to that. Most people know a good deal of fisherman are quite crazy so its alright if they talk to there selves out on a river while waving a shiny stick but... A grown man probably shouldn't be talking to a stuffed monkey named George even though I do and still look at him and think about the things we did and have talked about and I can't help but laugh out loud to myself. A little crazy I know.

So Curious had a rough weekend. It started with me having a bad day at work and feeling ill with a horribly swollen throat and a bit of a cough. The small bug lasted all weekend but luckily for me he convinced me to continue on with the trip and clear my mind of all the evil people and things. He had his face shot taken in the same place as last time except the background had a little lower water and a peaceful fog rolling off the water. We caught a few fish, not quite as many as we planned but we did put Matt-o on a pretty looking little Brown. The drive home was miserable at best and we just felt plain exhausted after the sickness and long weekend but it was nice to be away from work.

Not much else going on. Curious should think up some new ideas, I am getting a little restless.

Natural Dam and Mexicans

Ok... Mexicans... I know Curious is related closely to you but seriously... You guys have to quit doing this. Me and Curious just wanted an easy going day after work today, were we in for a surprise. We drive out to Natural Dam that has a nice little creek going through it. When I pull up i am absolutely amazed as to how many cars are there. At least 15 and this is a small parking spot. We unload our gear and throw Curious in the back of my vest before he starts causing trouble. We head to the most secluded spot that I am sure all these people wont be at. After being there 5 minutes rigging up and just casting a few times I all of the sudden have an audience. A whole family of hispanic people are sitting behind me just waiting to get hit with my back cast. They say something but I barely understand. They sit and watch for quite a while trying to figure out what the heck I am doing since they have surely never seen a fly fisher before I thought. Turns out the kids were wanting to jump into the deeper pool that I was fishing in and they did. Nearly right out in front of me, now how courteous is that? I was pretty upset and walked down to another good pool I like to fish... Bad idea. I walked right into another group of these people. I was a little frustrated at this point and walked back up the trail to the other side of the stream where there were even more people. At this time I just gave up because Curious was just itching for a fight but us 2 against.. I dunno. 1,254 mexicans? Not a good idea so we head out. A little disappointed with this trip, Oh well! There will be other little Curious little adventures for Adam & George. On the way home Curious spotted Pine Tower. Its a long walk and a bit scary to climb and I have been there but Curious hasn't and you people probably need to see this place up close. Its kind of exciting. When I take Curious up there to show him what its like I will be sure to take some pictures.

Back to Curious's Adventures!

So on Monday Curious talks me into fishing again... The damn boy knows I have sun burn but he wants out of the house. It is funny how a stupid lousy girl can make you go surely crazy but not quite institutional... Well I might be who knows. Anyways we load up the boat out in the sun and later on enough sun screen for at least a family of four. We head down to the reservoir to see the water absolutely horrible. It was as muddy as it can be from run off from the heavy rains. We head out anyway and notice many more boats than should be out there for a Monday. Heading out to the spots the wind feels great on the burns. We fished for a couple hours with not much luck at all. There was some gorgeous wild life out though. Snakes crossing the water, Geese with there young, huge Turtles plopping down in the water like baseballs whenever they would heard you go by, the occasional huge cuddly looking Beaver and of course the Deer out on the island. There is a picture of the Deer on here. I waved at it and Curious flew it the bird... Damn Curious. No manners that boy I tell you.

Mr. Evan

So I forgot to mention that my big cousin Evan was on that fishing trip with me. Me and old Evan sure have some good ole times, some times a bit odd but good times. I tried to wake him up early in the morning to hit the stream but he didn't seem to be ready yet. Its ok though, I have done that many times to him haha. Anyways our first fun thing that happened when we hit that darn Starbucks for a restroom stop. I didn't plan on getting anything to eat or drink but I did and thats how you heard about that wonderful cake donut. MMhmm. So while we were there and I was doctoring up my coffee I asked the server for some milk for mine. Well Evan noticed the half/half machine by the door so I decided to use that instead. Big mistake.. I tell you these expensive machines they come up with to perform the simplest of tasks just bewilders me. They could spend what 50 dollars on a small refrigerator with a gallon of milk in it? Instead they have this souped up espresso machine that shoots cold milk down at your cup. Now keep in mind I have just put a hot cup of coffee under this complex machine. I push the button and WOOSH here comes the milk. It shoots this stuff so hard it splashes coffee all over me and stupid me does it again when there isn't enough milk. That has to be a lawsuit waiting to happen. I am surprised there isn't a "Use at your own risk" sign on it. Anyways back to the fishing! Evan did well and we kept some fish. After we get home he takes his little fishies back to his house to cook for the lovely Cole. Now this girl... I have no idea what her ethnicity is but she guards it with the power of the CIA. It must be a pretty important one like moon man or something. She is a hottie though and her and Evan should make some wonderful White/Moon Man babies. Pretty cool if you ask me. We can teach him or her how to fish.

Adam and Curious Day 1

Adam & Curious!

Day 1 of the Blog!

So I woke up around 5:30 and got all prepared for fly fishing today. A lot on my mind... For those of you who know it is a rough one I tell ya, but it is starting to ease off I believe. Rough times as me and Daniel used to say. No one ever told me how rough and how bad it would be seeing some of the things that I have. Oh well. Things are starting to look up other than the horrible sun burn I have gotten today. Fishing was good though. I had breakfast early around 6. Later on down the road we hit a Starbucks and I had a GREAT cake donut. I love cake donuts but I felt awfully cliche driving a Land Rover and having a starbucks cup in my hand. I really seem to dislike those kind of people. You know the snobs that drive around peering down on all the regular people. Yuck.. Anyways back to the fishing. We hit some decent spots and got some respectable fish. I was pleased other than turning cherry red. Curious had a great time riding around in the back of my fly vest. We ate the trout later on in the day. It seemed right to after we killed them.. I doubt I will do it again... Those precious little creatures.

I put some pictures up. We have Curious suiting up for the day, Curious admiring the stream, and Curious looking at the days take home fish.
